Sujata Banerjee Dance Company

Sujata Banerjee Dance Company was founded in 1985 by eminent Kathak practitioner Sujata Banerjee. The company was also formally incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in 2005 and most recently as a charitable organisation with the UK Charity Commission.

The Company is committed to promoting South Asian dance and music in the UK and beyond and regularly conducts classes, school workshops, masterclasses with eminent practitioners as well as performances.

Artistic Director Sujata Banerjee is one of the most experienced and active dance practitioners in the UK and is also the Chairperson of the South Asian Faculty at the ISTD (the Imperial Society for the Teachers of Dance). She is at the forefront of developing Kathak syllabus' for formally recognised exams and promoting South Asian culture in the UK.
