The Union Chain Bridge project is to conserve the 200-year-old engineering marvel that crosses the River Tweed to link Scotland and England. Designed by Captain Samuel Brown and opened in 1820, it is the oldest suspension bridge in the world still open to vehicular traffic.
As well as the work currently being done on the fabric of the bridge, the project team are running a range of associated activities, including a series of online talks on a variety of topics related to the history, heritage, culture and natural history of the area.
