ANDREA PARKER
A classically trained cellist and former session vocalist, Andrea Parker's brilliant darkside electro-techno productions for Mo' Wax, R&S and Sabrettes displayed an artist with impeccable programming skills but also an increasing desire to integrate her own training into the mix. She began recording on her own early in the 1990s, and became a DJ by 1993. One year later, she began collaborating with David Morley, first for Infonet Records on the Angular Art EP, then for R&S on the Too Good to Be Strange EP (the former appeared under Morley's name, the latter as Two Sandwiches Short of a Lunchbox). Morley contributed engineering to Parker's 1996 solo debut for Mo' Wax, the 40-minute EP Melodious Thunk. Her second EP for Mo' Wax, Rocking Chair, featured London's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra alongside sampled beats and effects. She also remixed Depeche Mode, Lamb, the Orb, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Steve Reich
SHITMAT
Shitmat, Henry Collin's alter ego was started in September 2002. Hailing from Brighton, Uk, Shitmat initially started making his blend of Gabber & Jungle as a reaction to not getting accepted into the DnB scene + it was rather fun... After sending a single 5 track demo to his favorite label Planet Mu he soon found himself with a 7" record released 4 months later in April 2003.
Championed by the late great John Peel, later that year he released 2 albums, 'Killababylon kutz' and 'Full English Breakfest'. Releases which secured his place in the emerging Breakcore scene. Later in 2003 Henry got involved with a group of interesting experimental musicians/artists called Wrong Music. This eventually turned into a regular event & later a record label hosting and releasing all sorts of danceable and non danceable music.
Since then things have gone a bit crazy for Mr Collins...touring the world and playing at all the Uk's biggest festivals, averaging on a new ep and album each year. Today he sits at home making and creating music and stuff!
