2:54 are London-based sisters Colette and Hannah Thurlow, Schooling themselves on the desert rock testaments of Kyuss and Queens Of The Stoneage, the name itself is a reference to the moment 'it gets good' in their favourite Melvins song. But 2:54 arrives amidst their own distinct mist of ideas, forging a sound that's as haunting and ethereal as it is anthemic, with spectral melodies enveloping tombstone riffs and perilous walls of sound, and drawing as many comparisons to the likes of Mazzy Star and PJ Harvey. Live the sibling duo are joined by a formidable rhythm sectionin Joel Porter and Alex Robbins, After a flurry of attention arriving in the latter half of 2010 culminating in infamous tours with both Warpaint and Melissa Auf De Maur, the band are plotting huge things for 2011, with this the launch for their debut single release
