Tom Woodhead, the album was filled with accomplished melodies and rich complexities of instrumentation. ‘Hollow Realm’ has met with some high praise indeed; it has been championed by the likes of Huw Stephens and Drowned in Sound.

Chicago’s one man band Jeff T Smith is much like the Wizard of Oz, creating illusions on a grand scale you might not think possible of one man. His live sets may feature anything from several boom boxes going off at once to some rather unconventional musical contraptions; a mash of noises and voices, pop hooks and experimentation. In fact it might just be best to expect the unexpected, as this man rarely defys convention in the most enjoyable way.
