Boris:
Drone-doom pioneers. Garage-trash revivalists. Deep-psych dissidents. All could be attributed to the monolith that is Boris and all only paint a glimmer of what they encapsulate. Across their 15 year plus career Boris have stridently resisted the shackles of the pigeon hour through a glorious and hyper-productive discography. Boris are a power trio in the truest sense of the word. Power against genric constraints. Power against the touring schedule. Power against volume. Submit your ears to the kaleidoscopic annihilation of Japan's finest export since sushi.
Russian Circles:
Russian Circles have cemented their position as one of the decades most forward thinking and progressive instrumental bands. A collage of beautifully serpentine guitar lines that are as quietly insidious as they are venomous, epic bass grooves that crush the chest and pounding drums that frame their circular, interweaving dark narrative, Russian Circles hold you, whimpering, in the palm of their hand. Lulling the listener in with both austere beauty and apocalyptic power, this trio have rightly been championed by the likes of Tool as the usurpers of the throne of modern prog.
