This week you will experience music in a completely new way, however, the novel environment means that you need to be aware of certain things.
First off, to restate the obvious, you’ve bought a ticket to a gig which takes place in total pitch black. Everything has been carefully considered to ensure your safety, we do however ask that you take note of the following:
Please arrive promptly at 7. If you miss the audience briefing at 7.30, you won't be able to go into the room for the first half of the show. Allow plenty of time to collect your ticket.
You'll be entering Blackout entirely at your own risk. For your safety and enjoyment, please follow stewards instructions at all times.
Wear comfortable shoes – you won’t be able to see where you’re going, and it would be a shame to stub your toes.
There will be a cloakroom, we advise that you use it. If you lose anything in the dark space, you won’t be able to retrieve it until the end of the event. We will insist you put large or bulky items in the cloakroom, as they might pose a hazard to other audience members in the dark. If you can avoid bringing valuable items, we advise that you do so.
We will ask you to turn your phone off before you enter the dark space. It’s surprising how much light a screen can give off, even from inside your pocket / bag. Even better, leave it at home. If you’ve got anything else that lights up or glows, turn that off too.
If you have any questions, please contact info@eatyourownears.com with Blackout in the subject heading.
