Born January 18th 1952 in Nashville, R. Stevie Moore, "The Godfather of Home Recording" has produced and self-distributed over 400 albums covering pretty much every genre of music.

He has worked on numerous collaborations with a variety of musicians and artists including long-term friend, Ariel Pink, David Shrigley, MGMT, Jad Fair and Mike Watt.

In February 2005, newspaper writer Tammy LaGorce praised Moore, dubbing him a "lo-fi legend" in the New York Times.
