Thursday 13th October:

AMiTY
http://www.iamamity.com/
Our 'one to watch' in issue 3, AMiTY is Wolverhampton born Amy Forrester, a self taught singer-songwriter who takes 'going it alone' to an exciting new level.

"I combine vocals with guitar, then throw in a kick and snare, loop it all on a pedal and play whatever else is lying around to create honest music that makes you want to laugh, cry or tap your toes...what that's the plan."

LILLIES ON MARS
http://liliesonmars.com/
Lilies on Mars are a three-piece experimental shoegaze band based in London. Fascinated by the spirit of DIY, they produced, mixed and self-released their debut album in April 2009. Shortly after, they debuted live at La Cigale Theatre in Paris with Franco Battiato and continued touring on their own in the UK, Italy, Germany and USA for the whole of 2009/beginning 2010. Following collaborations with various musicians, Lisa and Marina welcomed Matthew Parker (ex-Sunny Day sets fire) to join them on the drums.

"...one of the most thrilling new bands I've seen in years" SEAN ADAMS, DROWNED IN SOUND

"Clearly already on their way to greatness." TOM ROBINSON, BBC 6MUSIC

Let's Buy Happiness mix delayed guitar soundscapes with the clipped Nordic-sounding vocals of lead singer Sarah Hall, reminiscent of Sugarcubes era Bjork.

In a rare truce from sibling rivalry, this barely legal 5 piece from Newcastle have supported Idlewild, The Temper Trap, Vivian Girls, HEALTH, Sky Larkin and The Futureheads, played The Great Escape and Evolution Festival and they were selected by Eavis and co. to play the John Peel stage at Glastonbury Festival 2010.

With their DIY approach, Let's Buy Happiness released their first single 'Six Wolves' in October 2010 on their own label Ghost Arc Records.
A widescreen, icy lupine and ethereal single premier, 'Six Wolves' was playlisted on BBC 6Music, received plays on Radio 1 (Huw Stephens), Amazing Radio and XFM, as well as reviews and features from Drowned in Sound, Q Magazine, NME, The Fly, Guardian, Record of the Day and many more.
