THE LOVELY EGGS
The Lovely Eggs are David and Holly. David plays the drums and things like the xylophone and bicycle bells and squeaky horns and slightly squeaky recorders and things like that.Holly sings and plays the guitar and a floor tom with a wooden stick with lots of thick wool tied around the end. Some say that The Lovely Eggs are mad. Unhinged. Strange. Bizarre. Cuckoo. But Holly and David will tell you a different story. They will tell you that the story of The Lovely Eggs all started when a pigeon flew down to lay two lovely eggs in an abandoned nest on Holly's windowsill. And the rest is history! When you meet them at a gig or in a record shop or maybe ratching through a skip down a cobbled alley, ask them the story and you will find it to be TRUE!

When the eggs finally hatched, Holly and David set out to play their first ever gig in New York (for no other reason than it was their favourite place in the world) and since then they have attracted quite a following. The Lovely Eggs love nothing more than to play in unusual places and they have performed all over the world from Amsterdam squats and Los Angeles scrap yards to steam trains in Ripley, charity shops in Leeds and tea parties in Manchester! In 2009 alone they have played more than 70 gigs in the UK and USA supporting the likes of Shonen Knife, The Slits, The Television Personalities and Tiny Masters of Today. They have slept in record shops in North Carolina, entered female arm wrestling competitions in Chicago and sang on the beach in Bournemouth.

After the success of their debut album "If You Were Fruit", The Lovely Eggs resurfaced in 2011 with their second album, "Cob Dominos" - preceded by the single "Don't Look At Me (I Don't Like it)" and it's John Shuttleworth-featuring video.
