STANDARD FARE
Standard Fare had a great 2010 that saw the release of their critically acclaimed debut album The Noyelle Beat, festival appearances at Latitude, Indietracks, In the City and SWN and two US tours, including playing at SXSW. They marry sharp kitchen-sink poetry about romantic/sexual transgression, regret, indignation and defiance to fast and furious melodic catchiness. Emma Kupa's mix of faux-coy naivety and don't mess-with-me stroppiness; allied to the pell-mell playing of Danny How and Andy Beswick, she summons an almost Smiths-like bathos. Hot on the heels of releasing the poptastic single "Suitcase" on Thee SPC, we're thrilled to have the Sheffield indiepoppers headline our premiere show.

"A riot of hormones, cut-to-the-chase lyrics, bolshie girl-boy vocals and jingle-jangle propusion... The best and most loveable aspects of indie guitar music." The Sunday Times

RED SHOE DIARIES
Red Shoe Diaries are five friends from Nottingham who write pop songs for messed-up grown-ups. Since before they knew how to talk to girls, guitarist Ashley and singer Thomas have been writing songs and playing music together, and now, years down the line, these teenage bedroom rumblings have matured into a sophisticated blend all of their own. The band have built a reputation from playing with the likes of The Wave Pictures, Ballboy, Allo Darlin', BBC radio sessions and playing at festivals such as Edinburgh Popfest and Summer Sundae. One previous self-released EP has received much praise. Check out the outstanding When I Find My Heart... EP out now on Fika Recordings.

"Outside of The Melons Nottingham hasn't really had a great pop band. But that might change with Red Shoe Diaries getting everyone's hearts a flutter." A Layer of Chips

EVANS THE DEATH
Evans the Death make frenetic and infectious punk pop which exudes the kind of unbridled charisma, intelligence, and runaway energy that promises a singularly exciting future for the band. Having evidently spent a good proportion of their young lives attuned as much to the lyrical dexterity of Morrissey, Felt, Edwyn Collins, and Jarvis Cocker the band effortlessly blend precocious musical literacy with the kind of unerring self-awareness which makes for a perfectly pitched pop sensibility. With their compellingly unhinged and hyper-intelligent pop the band look set to blaze a trail through 2011 and beyond. The double A-sided single "Threads"/"I'm So Unclean" on Fortuna Pop! is a must have.

"They're a great live act and their debut single captures their natural exuberance... plenty of wit and masses of noise, a marker for even better things to come." SoundsXP
