The Show Is The Rainbow
A bizarre mix of FUNK / HIP HOP / DANCE / and EXPERIMENTAL ELECTRONIC music, with a MULTIMEDIA presentation and lots of quick witted banter. Darren Keen has played literally just under 1,000 shows, including 30+ tours of the United States, 9 European tours, and 2 tours of New Zealand.
“The other thing that went through this demented mind Friday night was that Keen may be onto something. His set was fun and “in your face,” with just enough edge to be considered subversive. There is an aggression boiling just below the surface, a strange unnerving tension that could erupt at any moment. And though the music is less “dancy” than his earlier material (which may change after he fills it out in the studio), it’s no less engaging. Let’s face it, it’s impossible to be bored at a TSITR show, which is more than I can say for 90 percent
of the indie bands that come through town. And for those folks who will stumble onto Darren by accident as he and his girlfriend
criss-cross the country over the next eight months, he could be a
revelation or at least one helluva conversation piece”
Neon Highwire
Surrealist geek electro upstarts Neon Highwire are the party destroying sensation that have been named as ones to watch with good reason. They’ve been championed by Tom Robinson of BBC 6Music, had track named track of the year by Sherwood Radio before it was even released and have gained a reputation for their devastating live shows countrywide which have included support slots with Pete & The Pirates, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs & Dragonette to name a few.
Elephant 12
Originating in the depths of London, the three piece, known for their highly energetic performances and quirky fusion of unapologetic punk rock laced with a magnetic electro bass lines.
Not only is this band remarkable on stage but are also renowned for their sing along anthems, catchy arrangements, entertaining lyrics dealing with love, daily realities and heartfelt emotion.
Quickly becoming the talk of the town and already generating industry buzz having been praised by the likes of Fault magazine and BBC Introducing for their refreshing approach, I Blame The Parents Records is helping the release of four up tempo, mind blowing tracks of their long awaited EP, out on September 19th.
Hot Beds
Andy and Lena formed Hot Beds to manufacture tales of urban paranoia and claustrophobic modern existence for the world at large. Employing elements of rock and electro with a pop sensibility Hot Beds wrap their alternative vision in songs ready for the dancefloor and radio as much as through headphones in bedrooms. Their live show, complete with projections and stage performance, has been highlighted by many as a must see.
Since the summer of 2009, Hot Beds have had no less than 5 top ten hits on the Tourdates UK Unsigned Chart. "Christmas Started in October", topped the Christmas chart of 2009 and when "Leave Everything" hit No.1 it stayed there for an unprecedented five weeks. Remixes of Frantic and Stop Forgiving also performed well and recent single, Boys, stayed in the top five for a month.
Hot Beds regularly receive airplay on various regional radio stations, internet broadcasts and well regarded music podcasts, where they have also been interviewed. They have appeared on several CD and vinyl compilation albums and are currently recording their forthcoming album, due out this summer.
