NORTHERN STAR RECORDS PRESENTS REVOLUTION IN SOUND II - LAUNCH NIGHT

Northern Star Records is proud to present the launch night for ‘Revolution in Sound II’ – a compilation of 17 tracks from 17 of the most exciting bands on the planet, featuring some of the most fuzzed up, blissed out music in existence. It’s a heartstopping white knuckle rollercoaster ride from start to finish featuring an eclectic selection of the very best in contemporary shoegaze, indie and electronica.
The night will feature a headline set from THE NOVA SAINTS who will also be launching their long awaited debut album “Newfoundland”. It will be the first UK show for Germany's finest THE LOST RIVERS, the debut live show for THE ELECTRIC MAINLINE, the first and only UK show of the year from Sweden’s YOUNGTEAM and a live set from London instrumentalists KONTAKTE.
Plus DJ Sets from: Tom & Stuart (Delicasession) + Rob Smith (The Electric Mainline) + Darren & James (Magic Pudding Avenue)
Northern Star is a record label dedicated to independent and underground sounds. The label launched in March 2006 with the first volume of the now legendary Psychedelica series. Northern Star compilations have placed well known cult acts alongside a host of unknowns and have launched the careers of many. Independent bands from all over the planet have united under the Northern Star umbrella. Northern star - we're starting a revolution and we want you to be part of it!!!

The Nova Saints
Occupying the space between the psychedelic punk of Creation Records, the garage pop of the British Invasion groups, the harmony-drenched troubadours of the American West Coast and the alien soundscapes of 4AD, The Nova Saints are reputed for a their brilliant and eclectic live sets.
'The kind of delicious shoegaze/psych-rock that once made Ride and early Verve so viscerally thrilling.' - God Is In The TV

Youngteam (Sweden)
Superb Shoegaze/Psychedelica from Stockholm.

Kontakte
Space. Kraut. Drone.
"Surging forth on a throb of sleek drum machine, Kontakte glide along a shimmering autobahn where audio technology drifts across the spectrum of retro-futurism – roaring into overdrive, pistons heaving and churning with mechanical glee." - Plan B

The Lost Rivers (Germany)
The Lost Rivers are three extreme noise terrorists from the southwest state of Baden-Wurttemberg, an area more renowned for its prosperous industrial background rather than musical heritage.
"While comparisons with ... earlier incumbents of such wares like Spacemen 3, Loop and The Brian Jonestown Massacre are inevitable, there's an immeasurably distinct edge to The Lost Rivers make up that sets them apart from most of their peers both past and present." - Drowned In Sound

The Electric Mainline
The Electric Mainline are a loose musical collective based in London. The bands sound falls somewhere between shoegaze, punk and psychedelia. This is music for kids with their eyes rolled back in their heads and their heads in the clouds.
The 1st official TEM release came courtesy of Northern Star Records’ Psychedelica series with an appearance alongside The Black Angels, Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Telescopes. This was followed by the self-released 6 track ‘All Too Much’ EP. Since then the band have gone on to appear on numerous compilations all over the world alongside the likes of The Nova Saints, Youngteam, The December Sound and Punk TV.
