Greed, directed by the phoney Count himself, von Stroheim, is one of the great masterpieces of the silent era. Set in what was the first consumerist era, the Roaring '20's the film with amazing locations in Death Valley and San Francisco, follows the spiral of decline of a group of lottery winners.
