The Actionettes are supremely excited to present a wild evening of groovy ghouls, ghosts and go-go! Known for their riotously fun events, London's original all-girl 60s dance troupe take over the Buffalo Bar on Saturday 29 October 2011 for an unforgettable evening of vintage horror! Get ready for Night of the Shimmying Dead!
Come and see vampire brides driven to a frenzy by the strains of Lavern Baker's "Voodoo Voodoo"! Recoil in horror as go-go ghosts are summoned in an unholy séance! Be very afraid as The Action Men become possessed by the dancing demon!
Rowdy, sassy all-female garage band The Nuns perform their covers of legendary 60s band The Monks, the blasphemous sisters only adding to the devilish mayhem. They are supported by The Werewandas, a five-piece combo of indie popsters turned into rockabilly monsters by the witchy power of Wanda Jackson. And our special guest Miss Ani from the fabulous retro-pop band The Pipettes will sing their new single "Boo Shuffle" and spin some spooky tunes!
Plus Actionette DJs play foot-stomping soul, r'n'b, garage and rockabilly until the early hours, Evil Elvis comperes, diabolical dance class, hair-raising competition, and more... Prize for the best dressed!
