Celebrating the release of his new CD "In Motion" [Leo Records], alto saxophonist François Carrier is joined by drummer Michel Lambert and double bassist John Edwards for an evening of spontaneous lyrical abstract music (free jazz).
Carrier and Lambert, both Canadians, have been collaborating for more than a decade and this is their first appearance together in London. As a unit, they have performed and recorded with numerous jazz greats such as Paul Bley, Gary Peacock, Dewey Redman, Tomasz Stanko and Jean-Jacques Avenel.
With John Edwards completing the trio, the evening promises to be very special. 'In Motion' was recorded live in St-Petersburg, Russia, on December 2010 with Russian pianist Alexey Lapin.
This is a free event made possible by support from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec as part of the Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine du Québec's 50th Anniversary Celebrations.
