TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE ON THE DOOR ON 5 DEC.
The Brighton ultra-group up for a rare London jamfest - featuring members of British Sea Power, the Tenderfoot and the Brakes. Expect a set of joyous cover versions, drawing on the life-affirming, tune-soaked works of Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers.
The night will also feature a talk on avian sex strategies from Professor Tim Birkhead of Sheffield University. Tim is a compelling lecturer and will be giving an audio-illustrated talk on the fascinating and even frightening mating behaviour of birds - from the sluttish hedge sparrer to the sex-criminal mallard duck.
PLUS! Andrew Harrison on the rock/food nexus. After a bravura performance at last month's Klüb Gütenberg, Andrew returns to give an audio-visual talk based on his book Love Music Love Food: The Rock Star Cookbook - a book published in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and centring on amazing rock/grub images from celebrated food photographer Patrice de Villiers. Siouxsie Sioux, Brian May and beetroot-mad Alex Kapranos all feature... alongside British Sea Power. Indeed, exclusive BSP-customised copies of the book will be available, making for unsurpassed yuletide gifts.
After our recent opening night at Klub Gutenberg - a SELL-OUT SUCCESS with Luke Haines - we are expecting another busy evening. BOOK EARLY! for this invigorating new nightlife fixture - brought to you by Rough Trade Books and the Quietus website.
Tickets £8 in advance (plus booking fee). And £10 on the door.
