The Hectic Eclectic present.... THE MAGIC LANTERN & LAISH

Bringing light to the winter's long dark nights, we are proud to announce this very special winter concert with two of our favorite bands, London's finest The Magic Lantern and the mighty Laish from Brighton. This is going to be a truly exceptional evening of enchanting folk from two of the UK's most inspiring and original folk bands.

The Magic Lantern take their inspiration from the heartfelt stories of folk, the spirit of jazz and the experimental openness of contemporary chamber music before filtering it through their own lyrical and narrative sensibility. They are a member of London's F-IRE collective and were one of the founders The Hectic Eclectic with whom they continue to play and collaborate. They released their debut album 'A world In A Grain Of Sand' in June this year.

Laish are an integral member of the acclaimed Willkommen Collective, a thriving part of Brighton’s alternative folk scene. Influenced by folks like Bill Callahan, Jim O’Rouke and Grizzly Bear and sometimes compared to Herman Dune and James Yorkston, the band are known for playing honest, humble, humourous and uplifting songs. Laish release 'She is Clever' on 5th December as a free download.

Price: £6 in advance, £7 on the door

Doors: 8pm, music from 8.30pm.

Please bring a warm coat, it's a beautiful beautiful church but there might be a bit of a nip in the air!
