TOM MORIARTY:
“Magnificent Voice” Janice Long, BBC Radio 2
“Fantastic” Jo Good, BBC London
Tom Moriarty’s soulful voice soars from a husky croon that recalls John Martyn on folky numbers to a full-blown rasp that summons up the spirit of Paul Rogers in his blues-rock days with Free. Throw in the musical and lyrical influence of Tom's heroes - folk legends like Bob Dylan and John Martyn, as well as soul superstars such as Ray Charles and Sly Stone - and you find a singer songwriter who straddles the genres with ease. His debut album “Fire In The Doll’s House is available from Feb 6th on Driftwood Records.
SMOKE FEATHERS:
“Liberation” stands as an autobiography of Smoke Feathers, front man, Matt Falloon’s extraordinary travels over the years, and his experiences reverberate throughout the album, both lyrically and musically. The record's rich sonic detail underlines that Falloon has been exposed to a deep variety of different rhythms, with his love for reggae developing while living in Guyana and Jamaica, reporting as a journalist for a local paper.
