'Forward Space' album launch

'Forward Space', out on January 23rd on Whirlwind Recordings, is the first UK release by Andre Canniere. Since moving to the UK in 2008, Andre has steadily been making a name for himself on the British scene.

Canniere's band features some of the UK's most celebrated young players – Ivo Neame (piano), Hannes Riepler (guitar), Ryan Trebilcock (bass) and Jon Scott (drums) – who between them pepper acclaimed bands such as Phronesis and Kairos 4tet.

Canniere's music successfully blends various trends of the current jazz scene and shows his powerful but melodic approach to improvising. His compositions are typified by heavy grooves, memorable melodies and plaintive meditations, infusing jazz, rock and contemporary-classical influences.
