with special guests:
BIRD RADIO
THESE FEATHERS HAVE PLUMES

Sieben is vocalist and violinist Matt Howden's one-man show.
One voice, one violin, one simple loop-pedal. The songs are made live, layer upon layer of looped violin, beaten, plucked, bowed and thrashed.

Matt produced over 35 professionally released albums, along with countless other singles, EPs, music for books, art exhibitions, contemporary dance works.and over 1,400 live performances world-wide.

Thiis event marks the launch of his new album 'No Less Than All' officially released on 1 February and featuring an excellent cover of Joy Division's Transmission amongst new original material.
'Sheffield-based musician Matt Howden is one of the leading lights of the European neo-calssical and folk scene, well-known for his virtuoso violin playing and productions.

'Sieben is his solo project, a blending of distinctively English pastoralism with darker undercurrents of heathen mythology and earthy eroticism'. - JudasKiss -

Other Sieben shows:
04 FEB 2012 - DE Leipzig @ Theater Fabrik
18 FEB 2012 - Sheffield @ The Riverside
17 MARCH 2012 - AT Vienna @ Viper Room, RITES Festival

Special support guest will be Bird Radio.

London based musician Mikey Kirkpatrick is an act with a broad spectrum of inspirations: "Bird" because of the flutes. "Radio" because of the technology he uses.

"Herefordshire's Mikey Kirkpatrick loops flutes, bones, a red kick drum suitcase and his own very un-ethereal vocals to create an intensely curious mash-up between electronic music and traditional folk tales." - Critics Choice - Timeout

Opening guest: These Feathers Have Plumes

Andie Brown is a musician from London who began playing music as a bass guitarist, working with experimental band Cindytalk in her late teens. An interest in sound and experimentation led Andie to begin working as These Feathers Have Plumes in 2007, creating sonic landscapes using traditional and non-traditional instrumentation (primarily double bass and glass), found-sound and field recordings, manipulated and composed using digital media. Andie has a particular interest in bringing space and place into her work, often using field-recording as a basis to bring a feeling and essence of physical space into the compositions she creates. Andie has released work in New York and London and has had work included in a group sound-art show at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts.
