Its NEARLY SPRINGTIME!! Hammer and Tongue is bringing you a tasty March treat- a night of the very best in People's Who Say Poems Out Loud.
Featuring...
***Anna Freeman***
Anna Freeman is a multiple slam champion and activist for ginger rights. Her work is funny, mostly, but with a spine of genuine pain and humiliation at the inarguable fact of her own existence. Her poetry has also been known to leave a greasy after-taste of lingering wrongness. Like a kebab.
Anna has stood in front of audiences and said words at them in myriad cities including London, Bath, Bristol, Manchester, Vancouver and Seattle, and has appeared as part of Radio 4's Bespoken. She spends most Summers performing at a plethora of festivals including Glastonbury and Latitude. Her worst gig ever was in Mordor, where the orcs threw dismembered limbs at her and laughed in all the wrong places.
'Our favourite living ginger poet' - Wandering Word
'Hilarious without underestimating the audience's intelligence - win.' - Suit Yourself Magazine
***Mark Grist***
Mark is a brilliant, witty, clever, hansome poet, and one half of acclaimed spoken word outfit The Dead Poets, Poet Laureate of Peterborough in 2008, Chief Bard of the Fens in 2009 and Edinburgh Fringe Slam Champion in 2010 and Risk boardgame enthusiast... but at the moment you may know him as the english teacher guy from the rap battle video with the millions and millions of views and the articles in the guardian about it.
Come down and hear all the other excellent things he has to say!
'Absolute Dynamite' -Steven Merchant, Radio 6music.
