DAS WANDERLUST
Since January 2006, when they were invited down to London to record a session by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Das Wanderlust picked up fans in the likes of Phill Jupitus, Rob Da Bank, Everett True, Clint Boon, John Kennedy, Marc Riley and many more – as well as making appearances in Plan B, NME & Artrocker, being invited to play at Latitude Festival in July, and record further sessions for XFM and BBC 6music. In September they released their debut 7” single ‘The Orange Shop’ which Marc Riley recently named as his single of the year!
It all seems a long way from the day two summers ago when Laura first met Natalie in a crap nightclub in Middlesbrough, and wooed her to join an embryonic band from afar by posting her a 4-track cassette of her demo recordings and a handful of teabags. They walk the line between being obtuse and not being pretentious, don't do guitar solos, and are definitely *not* cool! Melody and chaos are their twin leaders and they write short songs to be played too fast.
“Like, I dunno, a furious Kenicke with the synths of Helen Love and the energy of The Banana Splits. Pow!” (Plan B)

LIFE WITH BEARS
The Bears first discovered their love of music while dancing round their bedroom to 'Happy Hour' by The Housemartins. It was an epiphany. And yet strangely enough it was to be eighteen years until the joyous pop of Life With Bears started to make it onto record. The bears could not be happier with their chosen path as pop stars o' the future. They embrace the pressure and challenges that come with being the best band since The Human League and they still spend more time then is strictly neccessary dancing round their bedroom to 'Happy Hour'.
“Cabaret Voltaire-style synthetics, cheap drum machine, fake robotic vocals, awkward, wonky new wave funk, electronic handclaps and everything.” (Nightshift)
