The Perunika Trio bring vocal gorgeousness direct from Eastern Europe. The Trio are an award-winning female vocal group who blend Bulgarian, Macedonian and Russian traditional music into a broader Slavic repertoire - a place where the pagan past, Slavonic tradition and five centuries of Ottoman rule mix in a stunning realm of Slavic spirituality. At Klüb Gütenberg the Trio will sing live then give the audience an invigorating and interactive collective lesson in Slavic song. (For music samples and more info: www.myspace.com/perunika). Preceding the Trio, writer and filmmaker Lucy Cooke brings her hilarious Sloth Appreciation Society talk to Klüb Gütenberg. The sloth is one of the animal kingdom's most derided and misunderstood animals, but Lucy will reveal why being lazy is a winning strategy in the evolutionary arms race.
