Brighthelmstone Promotions is very proud to bring together 2 incredible US bands for a joint debut Brighton show.
Wussy (Chuck and Lisa):
Wussy have been heralded as "The best band in America" by meta critic Robert Christgau which is a scary prospect for any band to live up to, but Cincinnatti's Wussy do their darnedest.
"Mindful drone-rockers from Ohio are alternately terse and liquiform in all the right places" - NY Times
" Recalling a roll call of adventurous boy/girl-styled indie bands - Yo La Tengo, Handsome Family, X -Wussy draws on plenty of yin/yang sexual and existential tension, a charmingly shambling, rough-hewn sound, and an army of alternately droning and jangling guitars on their sharpest outing yet. " - Uncut
American Werewolf Academy (Full Band):
American Werewolf Academy are a band based on the unashamed principles of pop. The band's influences range from 60s pop, 70s power pop, post punk to bubblegum rock. Favorite bands of AWA include Roky Erickson, Guided By Voices, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Kinks, Cheap Trick, The New Pornographers, and R.E.M. Comprising of Tony Harper (also drums in SlobberBone), Jake Barnhart and Aaron Thedford, this trio hail from Dallas, Texas USA.
"Melodic, joyous and romantic tumbling rock and roll, as if the Cars (as, in the band) were in the garage next door. Always at the top end of their game, the three from Dallas play their staggering Power-Pop. Everything is alright so far!" - Rolling Stone
