Red Balloon Music are proud to present the next installment of our monthly 'Are We Strangers Now?' nights featuring the fantastic Gideon Conn!

GIDEON CONN produces a unique, upbeat sound with a fantastic hip-hop meets folk rock vibe. Gideon's lyrics, often rapped, tell of heart-warming and humorous tales and produce laughs without fail.
He tours extensively around the UK, and has played at UK festivals, including Glastonbury Festival.
He has self-released a number of EPs, and released his first single I Want You Around on Mannequin Republic on 10" Vinyl. He was included on the recent 'A-Z Bestival' Compilation as the letter 'G'.
He has been played on XFM Radio and on BBC Radio 1 by Huw Stephens. He also supported popular American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz on his 2008 UK Tour.
Gideon sells his artwork through his myspace page. He also has a range of self-designed clothing, created in collaboration with Yes No Maybe Clothing.
Gideon signed a record deal with Mancunian imprint label Skinny Dog Records which is owned and run by members of I am Kloot and Elbow. Skinny Dog released Gideon's debut album entitled 'New Bop Sounds' in August 2010.

LITTLE SPARROW, also known as Katie Ware, played in various bands in and around the south of England before upping sticks and moving to Manchester where she joined the remnants of rock band Marion.The turn of the millennia saw Katie go it alone and support the likes of Stephen Fretwell, Badly Drawn Boy, The Zutons and the great Chip Taylor. Having taken a little time out, 2010 saw Katie spread her wings and return as 'Little Sparrow'. A mix of acoustic folk and an abundance of harmonies, Katie returns to The Castle following a show-stopping performance back in March!

GLASS ANKLE are an Indie Pop combo from England. The name of the band comes from a recurring football injury songwriter Greg Jackson continues to endure. Many of Greg's lyrics take influence from Japanese culture however the music is of a classic British pop mold. Other members include Chika on percussion, Stu on Bass and Paul on lead strings including Banjo, Ukelele and Electric Guitar. Their live performances are a glorious marriage of vocal harmonies, folk rhythms and entertaining lyrics inspired from Greg's extensive travelling.
