End of the Road Christmas Shindig

Featuring the brilliant Allo Darlin', Joe Gideon & The Shark and Woodpigeon...End of the Road returns to Cargo for their annual Christmas Shindig. Expect live music, DJs, hot cider on the patio and Christmas presents.

Allo Darlin' are many things. They can turn a room in a famous punk venue into a joyous, jumping, sweaty, pop-mosh pit. Or bring a room of 500 to hushed silence with the few strums of a ukulele and a love song about cooking. "Staggeringly intelligent and breathtakingly emotive, it's pop music at its finest." Next up, Joe Gideon & The Shark (formerly members of Bikini Atoll). Gideon dreams stories and sings. His sister Viva a.k.a. 'The Shark', plonks, stomps and honks. Since forming in 2006, they've been invited to play with the likes of; Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Archie Bronson Outfit, The Duke Spirit, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Michael Gira to name but a few.

The evening is opened by Woodpigeon, aka Mark Andrew Hamilton, who creates music much the same way a bowerbird crafts a love nest: the right space is chosen and the bower goes up twig by twig, berry by berry, embellishing a basic construction that's already sound and lovely.
