The Secret Sunday Lunch Club hosts proper roast Sunday lunch for up to 10 diners around one big table.
It all started with a bunch of hung-over friends searching for the perfect Sunday roast, but alas, it seemed this was too much to ask of the local pubs. Retreating home the only solution was to create the proper roast we'd been so eager to find - and so the Secret Sunday Lunch Club was born. It is now a regular event for those in search of home-cooked comfort food and the atmosphere remains as laid-back and friendly as ever.
Tucked away at a secret Notting Hill address your afternoon kicks off with a nibble and a tipple getting to know your fellow Lunch Clubbers. In the summer months this can be enjoyed on the slightly kitsch balcony overlooking the rooftops of Notting Hill, or in the winter, by the cosy fire. You'll then settle in around the dining table to enjoy a good old-fashioned Sunday roast. We'll carve at the table and an array of vegetables, condiments and plenty of gravy will be placed in the centre of the table where you'll be encouraged to help yourself to as much or as little as you like - and if you fancy seconds don't be shy, there will be ample to go around! Don't forget to save room for a traditional pudding which will invariably involve homemade ice-cream or custard, or both. For those with a savoury tooth, cheese is on the menu too. Finally, you'll finish off with coffee, a selection of fresh teas and homemade pistachio macaroons.
Expect to go home full, smiling, relaxed and maybe with a few more friends than when you arrived.
