Nils Petter Molvaer has alongside Sweden's Esbjörn Svensson and Norway's Bugge Wesselthoff changed the face of improvised music in Europe in the past decade. His debut album Khmer (ECM) sold over 250,000 copies worldwide and established his reputation as one of the leading voices of the new European jazz movement. Now working with Stian Westerhus on guitar and Erland Dahlen on drums; the NPM sound has also changed stylistically by integrating more indie-rock and alternative elements into the music.
Travelling with the trio is lighting designer Tord Knudsen who will once again enthral audiences with his spectacular light show that accompanies all of Nils Petter Molvaer's quadrophonic shows.
This session is presented in partnership with The Vortex - a beacon for contemporary jazz and experimental music in the capital.
