HEY COLOSSUS
www.heycolossus.com

They say:
hc has a postman in the ranks, blame him for all the price hikes. if you see him or any other postman (or woman) in the street, stop them, hit them, ask questions later. i think there's 7 in the band now, there was 8 but one of them stopped turning up. he'd fallen in love, fair fuck's to him. new 12" on onec records due out around now. new album recorded, just trying to make it sound better with mix wizardry. not played kingston for years, we remember the parking being reasonable.

Supernormal 2012 festival program said:
Simulating the experience of being run over by a juggernaut while sky-high on substances you can’t remember the name of, Hey Colossus are longtime purveyors of a muscular, threatening take on psych-splattered noiserock that takes riff, repetition and rancour to new dimensions of trashy horror. These wrong ‘uns may be in the gutter, but some of ‘em are staring at the kerb.

We say:
I've wanted to put on HC since pretty much for ever, so this is the realisation of a dream for me, sort of. Lads are pretty legendary, as I'm sure you know. They'll be coming to Kingston off the back of performances and the both equally mint Supernormal and Supersonic festivals, but you get to see them in K-Town for a fraction of the price cuz we're nice like that.

GREY HAIRS
www.honeyisfunny.com/greyhairs

New project from current/ex-members of Lords, Kogumaza, Fists, Fonda 500 and Cult of Dom Keller. What started as a fictional band to act as an excuse for the members to go to the pub on a weeknight has become something a bit more proper of late after some shows with Flipper and records in the pipeline. Even though they were probably aiming for something between Pere Ubu, Pissed Jeans and Scratch Acid it’s no surprise, with the members being kids of the early 90s, it ended up sounding like Nirvana. Just don’t call it a mid-life crisis.

Chris 'Hairs on K-Town:
The first time I played Kingston I went to load in at what I thought was the back door to the venue (this was about 5pm as well) with my mate Colin and we pushed a flightcase on wheels through the door to find we weren't in the venue at all but were in a very dark room where Phil Collins' "The Air Tonight" was playing very loudly and in front of us were 5 or 6 elderly men sitting on chairs looking at us. I turned to my right and a lady had her jugs out.
I hope Kingston is as good this time.

We say:
Chris has some of the covetable personal possesions of anyone on Facebook.

PALEHORSE
http://palewhores.tumblr.com/

They say:
Rarely has such an accomplished, intelligent, energetic, charismatic, well-groomed, purposeful, creative, attractive, genre-defining group of individuals had so few fans. Some observers have suggested it may be down to an appalling set of attitudes, poor tattoos, a sort of listless arrogance, an inability to express gratitude and an unwillingness to make enough good t-shirts. The electro-funk movement would be impoverished without these scene stalwarts.

Eyes of Sound say:
Palehorse first reared its ugly equine head in the year 2000, birthed in the liquor amnii of the hardcore bands Kneejerk and Abjure. With their idiosyncratic take on heavy music and dynamic formula of dual bass, dual vocals and drums, the band attracted the attention of Dry Run Recordings, the label which released, amongst other things, the first Jesu ep. In 2003, their debut album 'Gee, that ain't swell' saw the light of day, to much critical acclaim. Following a hiatus, which saw drummer Ben Dawson and bassist Tom Fowler enjoy success as half of MILLION DEAD, Palehorse returned to form with a new record, the 2008 ep 'Habitual Linestepper' on Eyes of Sound. The Palehorse lineup has shifted through the years; starting as a five piece, then a four piece, then five again, then back to four after the departure of vocal stalwart Seedi in 2008. The personnel for the recording of 'Soft as butter;hard as ice' were drummer Ben Dawson, bassists John Atkins and James Bryant and vocalist Nikolai Grune. The band has since returned to the five man format with the addition of Mark Dicker of fellow London noisemongers TRENCHER on vocals and electronics. Palehorse are renowned for the intensity and heaviness of their live performances, and have gigged alongside bands such as EyeHateGod, Oxbow, An Albatross, Brujeria, Ramesses, Narcosis, Mistress, Trencher, Red Stars Parade, Humanfly, Pulled Apart by Horses, Army of Flying Robots, Bossk and Nine Bar to name but a few.

We say:
FILTH.

NITKOWSKI
www.nitkowski.net

We say:
3 lads, 2 motors, shouting, droms, dark, harrowing, contorted, clean, different. These noted good'uns have not gigged much around london for a while, due to involvement in numerous other new projects and being mauled by dogs (this is actually true) so we're very excited to have them play. They've promised some exclusively brand new fresh cuts for this appearance n'all. MINT.

JOGGING
www.outonalimbrecords.com/artist/jogging

Out on a Limb Records say:
Jogging awakened in 2009 and quickly gained a formidable live reputation based on some early gigs with Adebisi Shank, BATS, The Redneck Manifesto and Giveamanakick. Their first split release with Not Squares came out September 2009 as part of the Richter Collective Singles Club. This was followed by the acclaimed debut album Minutes (also released through Richter Collective) in April 2010, which has since sold out of its first pressing. Minutes also placed in the Top 10 of Nialler9's Reader’s Choice Irish Albums of 2010.

Since then, Jogging have toured Ireland and the UK, sharing the stage with Wire, Polvo, Ponytail, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and Themselves amongst others. Jogging's music has been described as "an intense, raw blend of post-hardcore and gutsy indie rock". They have just completed their second album Take Courage with U.S. producer Chris Common (ex-These Arms Are Snakes), which was released through Out On A Limb Records on 24th August 2012.

We say:
3 total LADS from Dublin channeling grooving dischordy post-punk vibes. Easily our favourite Irish band at the mo, and that's saying a lot as there's plenty of rad coming out of the emerald isle these (other notable picks inlcude - Ginola, Terriers and Hands Up Who Wants to Die ...there are some other ones too that are good, and there are some other ones that we HATE). This will be the only London-ish date of a UK tour for the lads, I think.

LUPINS
http://lupins.bandcamp.com/

Three piece, mostly Canadian. Stuck between 1982-92. Can still rock..but only just. Your dads might like them. They hope your mums might like them too.

We say:
Driving duff mckagan esq jesus lizard grooves over sheer noisey guitar work. We fell in love with this band pretty much from the first chord and are so happy to have them on this bill. They don't get out as much as they should.

~

BROKER
www.facebook.com/brokertheband

Broker kicked off in late 2011 with "The Piping Hot EP". Steadily playing shows, writing new material and apparently taking setlists very seriously, their debut album will probably happen in early 2013. Other than this very little is known about the squad. However reports suggesting players have been overheard in practice muttering things such as "let's try that again" and even "shall we have a break now?" have sparked some controversy in the music press. They are currently debating whether or not to become a full on metal band.

We say:
Young lads from Brighton doing angular post-hardcore with a measure of noise. I'm not very good at descriptions so don't let that rather flaccid one put you off. These guys are nails.

SILENT FRONT
www.silentfront.co.uk

Triplejump records' house band. Cuz it's our label innit. Abrasive, angular and hopefully, slightly unsettling. We work hard, we play hard. Since SF's inception there have been, 6 different drummers, several splits, countless tours of the UK and europe, numerous eps, and one album. One of us likes jeff buckley, one of us likes carter USM and one of us likes the beatles BECAUSE I WAS TAUGHT TO, apparently. We'll be recording again over christmas time and hope to have new cuts for you early next year. in the mean time, we'll keep on keeping on.
