The Thinking Drinkers are....
Ben McFarland, 36, is a leading drinks writer and triple-crowned winner of "British Beer Writer of the Year" - the first as the youngest ever recipient and the cuurent holder 2011-12. He is the author of two award-winning books on beer - "Good Beer Guide West Coast USA" (which he wrote with Tom Sandham) and "World's Best Beers: 1000 Unmissable Brews from Portland to Prague". He writes about drink and pubs for a number of magazines and national newspapers including the Guardian, the Independent, the Spectator, Jamie Magazine and The Telegraph. As well as regular TV and radio appearances, he also reviews pubs and bars for Time Out London.
Tom Sandham, 35, is an award-winning drinks writer and frequent contributor on spirits and cocktails to influential industry magazines, as well as a host of consumer titles including Esquire, Spectator, Jamie Magazine, Times and Observer. He launched the industry's Worlds Top 50 Bars and the Soho House Group magazine House Tonic, and is the former editor the leading magazine for premium bars. He has featured on radio and television, hosted industry awards ceremonies and consulted for the leading spirits companies. He is also the author the new "World's Best Cocktails", a guide to more than 500 recipes from bartenders and bars around the world, available in all good book shops this Christmas.
