Led by vocalist Pinise Saul, with Chris Batchelor (trumpet), Harry Brown (trombone), Jason Yarde (saxophone), Adam Glasser (piano), Dudley Phillips (bass) and Frank Tontoh (drums), the Comets play the searing, joyous music of saxophonist Dudu Pukwana. Join us this afternoon to also celebrate Live Vortex on http:/thespace.org “I heard the Township Comets playing Dudu Pukwana’s music, and Chris McGregor’s legacy, and that was fantastic...really like hearing those wonderful bands with Dudu in all over again” (John Fordham).
