On Friday 10th August, Sunday Best heads down to the wonderful Corsica Studios in London's Elephant & Castle for a one-off night of fun and dancing, jam-packed full of musical treats made for maximal enjoyment!
Room 1: ‘This Is Fear Of Theydon’ 12" Launch Party
Fear Of Theydon is one Julian Peck, a former Sunday Best tea-boy whose ability has seen him quickly rise through the ranks in a style not dissimilar to a certain Rob da Bank. His 1st release on Sunday Best sees him remix 4 bands that are close to his heart... and the results are awe-inspiring! www.myspace.com/fearoftheydonproductions
What's more, two of these bands perform live at this party...
Olympus Mons (FOPP Best Unsigned Act Award winners) and the beautifully sweet tones of It Hugs Back (Tiger Trap/Too Pure) both feature on the new 'This Is Fear of Theydon' 12” and are special acts to hear and see live. It won’t be long until their songs wriggle their way into your head - so concede now!

Sunday Best’s resident firestarter, Hugh Frost aka Sportsday Megaphone, will also be playing a show for us - he sounds a bit like a young member of Devo jamming with Graham Coxon on a Gameboy and his one-man live show is an irresistible feast of pulses, jerks and hammering beats. Hugh never let’s you down!

Winners of the Bestival 2006 unsigned bands competition, Bastila, are an electrifying last-minute addition to the already bubbling brew of Sunday Best acts. Since winning last year's competition, Rob da Bank has since signed them to Sunday Best for their first album deal! Think The Specials at their bleakest, the Clash at their most passionate, the Stone Roses at their trippiest and you'll be some way to discovering the essence of this 5-piece from the Isle of Wight. Come and see their debut performance for the label in London!

The final live act is the extremely exciting new Sunday Best signing Christopher D Ashley. Christopher D Ashley is part of a new generation, alongside eccentric characters like Dan le Sac and David E Sugar, who are finally making computers rock! Impossibly, his music is astonishingly original, scarily good and simply cannot be ignored.
See his first live show for Sunday Best Recordings here!

All this live music will be supported by DJ sets from resident Sunday Best and Bestival DJs the Sombrero Sound System, playing a mixture of just about anything on the musical map... so long as it gets them feet tapping. Ben Gregory will be playing electronic music through the ages; Fear of Theydon Productions will play his own blend of remixes, bootlegs and original material and finally, special guest, Chris Peck of Boy Kill Boy, will be coming hot-footed from recording the band’s second album in Los Angeles to give us a DJ mix – and who knows? Maybe play some new exclusive material from the BKBs?

Neil Anderson is part of the much respected Diskomatik crew. Diskomatik have been putting on un-missable parties throughout London for over 3 years including their now legendary annual boat party. Jon Driscoll is co-founder and resident of Bear Dance, who have been making a name for themselves over the last year putting on riotous parties in London. Sadly the other half of Bear Dance, Sean Clare, is missing in action, but Jon Driscoll will be finishing things up in the Bear Dance room, don’t expect to move from that dance floor until the lights have come on!
