Event information

An intimate work in progress performance of Rosie’s new video-based show plus Q&A session in the beautiful setting of the Exhibit cinema with its 12 comfy leather sofas

About the show:
Award winning comedian / storyteller Rosie Wilby sprinkles this new show with video interviews and audio to trace a personal journey through the changing iconography of womanhood in the 1990s. Starting with her treasured old copies of the DIY feminist newspaper Rosie was involved with at University, she’ll re-enact a live version of a Nick Broomfield-esque documentary –tracking down influential collaborators from this period in her life, bumping into musicians, journalists and fellow performers along the way. Through a kaleidoscope of cultural history taking in riotgrrl, poll tax riots, Reclaim The Night rallies, New Labour, lad mags, Girl Power and Dyke TV, Rosie will recall her personal journey through a pivotal decade in her life from activism to relative apathy.
