The first Discovery 2 showcase of 2013 features Mark Hole who's promoting his 2nd album, he's already supported Tori Amos, had a song played on 'Loose Ends' and Kevin Spacey is a fan , acoustic rock act Blackheart, and a brand new artist Stella who fuses opera with contemporary music. Stella's debut Ep is produced by Guy Jackson (Bj Cole), is to be launched at this gig.
MARK HOLE
London based, born and bred, songsmith Mark Hole is embarking on the next leg of his musical adventure as he launches his second solo album......
"Always Follow Your Heart."
Since creating and self-releasing his debut album "F-Sharp" he's supported "Tori Amos" on a European Tour and received critical acclaim following his performance of 'Torture Garden' on Clive Anderson's BBC Radio 4 show "Loose Ends"
Recent collaborations include working with award-winning producer and 'Rumer mentor' "Steve Brown", cutting his teeth with the likes of "Declan Gaffney" from the "U2" Crew, spending time in the studio with "Mr Jimmy Hogarth" himself and now working with the legend that is "Amanda Ghost".
In a parallel musical universe, Mark has made a new family in Sweden with team "LIONHEART" who are currently working with Mark to develop a new project named "MACH (the Lionheart)" in Stockholm...stay tuned
When Kevin Spacey bought "F-Sharp" on the basis of its cover photo alone (a typically "bare all" Mark, sprawled across an unmade bed!) he said "Listen to his songs and go to his gigs, you'll find him to be a pretty open kind of fellow, yes a little eccentric, but his uniqueness informs a musical style with a real independence of character which you won't find anywhere else. Think Rufus/Folds with the emotion of Jeff and the fun of Queen, and then think beyond all 4 and a bit to the side"

BLACKHEART
According to the BBC, BLACKHEART are "Taking the acoustic scene by storm."
Radio 2's Aled Jones pronounced them "A great band." Good Morning TV described their music as "Beautiful". Italy's Radio Gold called it "Inspired music." and American Public TV proclaimed "Blackheart don't sound like anyone else, rather they remind us why music lifts us up."
In just three years, pioneering British arthouse folk duo BLACKHEART have achieved much. An incredibly hardworking outfit, playing over 400 gigs here in the UK and Ireland, together with two successful headlining tours of Australia and New Zealand. Their rise began when the track 'Unlike Water' was used for the Moben Kitchens TV commercial and they then went onto have Radio 2 Spotlight Song of the Day twice, followed by a No.9 position on the US Tower folk chart. Their music and sound defy categorisation - combining the lemon and honey voice of Chrissy Mostyn with spellbinding acoustic instrumentation creating a unique blend of intelligent acoustic rock. Their highly personal songs are laced with piercingly sharp observations, beautifully crafted lyrics and powerfully driven melodies which, prompted Australia's Western Star to comment that they "take their audience from uplifting to heartbreaking in a single song"
The third BLACKHEART album 'Songs From A Satellite', from which the single 'Everything You Are' is taken, is scheduled for release in Spring 2013.

STELLA STAR
Stella trained as an operatic singer at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and over the past year has been working on her first contemporary music project with collaborator/producer Guy Jackson (BJ Cole)
The music blends the light with the dark, with themes of loss, confusion and self-discovery. Stella combines an operatic strength and range with the gutsy vocals of a jazz singer - writing songs that contain powerful stories to match Guys themes.
