Liverpool Music Awards 2012 - Live Music Night of the Year
Liverpool Acoustic Live for April 26th 2013 has something really special lined up - headline act Only Child will be joined by a string quartet and playing songs from their forthcoming debut album. Support is provided by the gentle songsmithery of local lad Rob Clarke with songs from his recently released album, and the return of Berlin (by way of London) music star Roxanne de Bastion who'll be touring her debut album 'The Real Thing'.
ONLY CHILD, FEATURING LIVA STRING QUARTET
http://www.onlychildmusic.co.uk
Only Child make emotional music. 2012's debut EP was a collaboration between Alan O’Hare (ex-The Trestles) and Laura McKinlay (Bill Ryder-Jones), alongside a loose collective of Merseyside’s most intuitive musicians. The EP was launched in Liverpool in late 2012 to a wide range of positive reviews.
Only Child will be joined at the View Two Gallery by the Liva String Quartet for what's set to be a really special event.
"Musically gifted and beautifully played..." Seven Streets
"Like throwing crisp autumn leaves into the air..." Audio Apocalypse
"Beautifully haunting, the band falls away, leaving just strings..." Liverpool Acoustic
"Only Child summarise a feeling felt by many and with a pure Celtic heart..." Liverpool Student Media.
ROB CLARKE

It's About Time is Rob Clarke's third album and showcases Rob's songwriting and musicianship. It's always a pleasure to welcome him back to the View Two!
‘His warm voice and sensitive musicality (and) …memorable songs that somehow evoke the spirit of Liverpool, and will touch the heart of many’ – Liverpool Echo
‘His work has an honest tone and quality which makes his finely crafted music all the more listenable’ – The Harmless Musician
‘This is my type of music- the type that works its way into the brain so well that you find yourself singing it to yourself in your head or occasionally (as in my case) out loud at work and that for me is the sign of a great song’ – Liverpool Acoustic
ROXANNE DE BASTION
http://www.roxannedebastion.com
Berlin-born, London-based singer-songwriter Roxanne de Bastion returns to the View Two as part of her debut album tour. Roxanne last played for us in March 2012 and we're chuffed to bits to bring her back to Liverpool. Roxanne loves Liverpool. Liverpool loves Roxanne. Everybody's happy!
"…it is a track which you just cannot ignore or resist, an unpredictable barbed hook to lure one to her quirky sounds and an album which one can only assume will be the same." Ringmaster Review on Red & White Blood Cells (single)
"She somehow finds a perfect balance between confidence, determination and humility." Reel Talk Magazine
Doors open at 8pm and the music runs from 8.30pm to just after 11pm. Unfortunately there is no disabled access as the venue is on the third floor of the gallery. There is a full bar, and it's an over 14 event.
Tickets are £5 in advance and £6 on the door.
