AS SEEN IN THE WEST END SMASH ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS and HBO's GAME OF THRONES
GEMMA WHELAN

Gemma Won the Funny Women Variety Act Award 2010 with her character Chastity Butterworth. She recently finished in One Man Two Guvnors in the West End where she played Rachel Crabbe. She appears in Games of Thrones as Yara Greyjoy. Oh yes, and when she gets a spare minute she likes to perform Chasity all around the UK comedy circuit.

"A prim, buttoned-down, well-spoken, schoolma'amish spinster from another era. Think Julie Andrews performing comedy, and you're on the right lines. She's combines the daft puns of a female Tim Vine with the persona of an emotionally frigid posh-boy comic like Will Smith, and the effect is most impressive." - STEVE BENNETT, CHORTLE

ANDREA HUBERT
"Has the audience in hysterics. She followed through each joke with the charisma and confidence of a natural performer. She is definitely one to watch out for ****"-BROADWAY BABY

JO SELBY as Tatiana Ostrokova
" Potential successor to Catherine Tate...' - Graham Smith, Head of BBC 3

ANNA FREYBERG
"Chic geek Anna Freyberg appeals from the offset, with a routine that is both intelligent and bizarre." - THREE WEEKS

STELLA GRAHAM
"She's also got a terrifically funny way with one liners, as they subverted expectations and delivered punch lines which were squarely at
your sides." - TVNZ

LAURA LEXX
"One of the most delightful performers you're ever likely to see." - GQ

THE SHARAN PROJECT
In the United Kingdom 2 women are killed as a result of domestic violence each week. It is estimated that 1 in 4 women will face domestic abuse in their lifetime and an estimated 5000 to 8000 forced marriages take place each year. One woman each month is reportedly murdered through so called 'honour killings'. Women of South Asian origin are 2-3 more likely to self-harm. This disturbing trend continues to be prevalent in the U.K. today.

The SHARAN Project was established in 2008 as a U.K. online based charity which seeks to provide a safe forum for vulnerable women, particularly of South Asian origin to access support, advice and information. There are a myriad of reasons why South Asian women leave home including: being disowned by their families, potential, perceived or real threats related to domestic or honour-based violence, forced marriage; persecution over sexual or relationship preferences and other forms of persecution.

The SHARAN Project is run by a group of South Asian experts on a volunteer basis, who understand the challenges and barriers faced by those seeking to get their lives back on track.

As part of International Women's Day, The Sharan Project, in partnership with Comedy Knights and Seven Dial Club are proud to present an evening of comedy whilst raising awareness of the issues faced by women today.
