CONQUERING ANIMAL SOUND [http://conqueringanimalsound.co.uk]
Comprising of Anneke Kampman and James Scott, both residents of Glasgow, CAS' brand of pop (and it is pop, make no mistake) is rendered through a kaleidoscope of clicks, tape hiss, synths and a myriad of micro-electronica to produce something that's bewitching and entirely immersive.
Anneke's voice is the most flexible and affecting instrument of all though: harmonised and restless, her layered vocals wax, wane and shipshift in such gloriously inventive waves that for it all to form part of a debut seems almost rude. That debut was entitled 'Kammerspiel' - released via Gizeh Records in February 2011 it stormed to all kinds of high-praise and was nominated in the top 10 records for Scottish Album of the Year.
After a busy year touring Kammerspiel, CAS settled down in the studio to work on album number two and signed to Glasgow's Chemikal Underground records.
New album 'On Floating Bodies' is released in March 2013.
