NAPOLEON IIIrd
A one-man pop machine currently residing in Wakefield, Napoleon IIIrd’s critically acclaimed debut album displays a meticulously refined sound, both lo-fi and stunningly complex in its production; behind the ragged vocals and strummed acoustic guitar lie swirling layers of brass and humming organs, creating lush pop in the vein of The Beach Boys, The Flaming Lips, Fog and Olivia Tremor Control. As a fixture of the north’s live circuit, his performances are noted for their uniqueness. Shows are sometimes conducted in surround sound and he often plays three instruments at once, backed with an imposing reel-to-reel tape player, or sometimes with his infectiously joyful backing band. He also headlined the Unsigned Stage at Leeds Festival 2006, accompanied by a band and brass section.
“The Leeds based king of his own melodious empire… rippling electronic puddles and muddy swirls of flotsam… good people of this realm, welcome to Napoleon IIIrd.” – Plan B

ILL EASE
Ill Ease is one-woman band Elisabeth Sharp, born as a recording project when an old 8-track, a haunted piano and a guitar amp with no off-switch for the vibrato were left in an abandoned auto shop in Brooklyn. Since then, Ill Ease has gone live and toured across the States and Europe several times in "a flurry of intoxication". The live show is Rolling Stones 45s all scratched and skipping to a noisy New York beat. Dancey dissonance that won't stumble home. A one-piece that sounds like a 5 piece. Spazzy drum grooves with krazy guitar and bass riffs looped on top like sugar smacks.

AND WHAT WILL BE LEFT OF THEM?
Blasting out of Worcester in the Midlands with whisky in their bellies and songs in their hearts, And What Will Be Left Of Them? are currently working on their debut album. They have extensively toured the UK (and bits of Europe) playing with a little charm and a lot of shambolic style. Following a run of single releases on the influential Filthy Little Angels label, the band's last release was 'Wet Week In July' from The Little Hellfire Club.

PAGAN WANDERER LU
An increasingly influential figure on the thriving Cardiff music scene, Pagan Wander Lu is a lo-fi anti-hero, grinding out far-fetched tales and electro-pop protests with only a Groovebox and a guitar for company, flitting between scratchy rock and roll, electronica, simple acoustic folk, and unabashed pop. Under his belt already are sessions with John Kennedy (XFM) and BBC Wales, the headline spot at Drowned In Sound's "6 Tips for 2006" showcase alongside Jamie T, Comanechi, The Maccabees and The Strange Death of Liberal England, and the critically acclaimed "The Independent Scrutineer" EP in 2006. Brainlove Records will reissue his 2005 album 'Build Library Here (or else!)' in September.
'Whether its Nintendo-folk, folktronica or Casio-coustic, it sounds like someone gleefully hammering together two pieces of a jigsaw that arent supposed to fit.' - Drowned In Sound 'Picks for 2006'
