Children Of Godard presents
VIC GODARD & SUBWAY SECT

Following last year's storming performance at the Star and Shadow Cinema with guest band The Sexual Objects which Vic Godard, himself, cites as 'undoubtedly one of the best gigs i've ever done', Vic returns to the Star and Shadow a year to the day for a 'Subway Sect Special' with his original band back in tow featuring the classic 'Northern Soul' line-up of Vic Godard, Kevin Younger, Mark Braby, Paul Cook (ex Sex Pistols) and Paul Myers (of the original Sect).
Future plans include the release of the much awaited '30 Odd Years' collection, a re-issue of 1980's classic 'What's The Matter Boy' (following on from two live performances of said album north of the border with The Sexual Objects) and the release of '1979 NOW', an Edwyn Collins produced project that will finally see the infamous Subway Sect post-punk/Northern Soul infused set of '79 released as an album, including recent 'Caught In Midstream'/'You Bring Out The Demon In Me' single, released earlier this year in conjunction with Record Store Day 2013.

Having spent the last year cooking up a secret recipe under the guise of relentless rehearsals, Opium Kitchen have decided it is time to get out of that kitchen and start rattling those metaphorical pots and pans in the form of some live performances in front of some very live audiences.
Made up of stalwarts on the Edinburgh music scene, Robert King (The Scars), Jo Callis (Rezillos/Human League), Russell Burn (Fire Engines), Colin Whitson and youngster William Baird (who may actually have been Brian Jones in a previous life) the Kitcheneers wealth of years - some wag dubbed them OAPium Kitchen - actually acts as an advantage with the band drawing on an energy which belies their combined ages as well as a belief in the inherent ability of rock and roll to change your life in a way which would leave bands half their age quaking in their young pretenders heels - David Marren, LOUDER THAN WAR

PELLETHEAD

What is the point of starting a band and trying to sound like another band? None whatsoever in our eyes. So we don't bother trying. We try to combine self-taught instrument (non)skills, northern humour, and an everybody-in-the-band-has-different-influences effect to produce a noisy, but hopefully tuneful and interesting experience.
Very intelligent, good-looking, insightful, musical genius types always love Pellethead. Sad, ugly, middle-of-the-road, boring bastards always hate us. We are sure YOU will utterly love us.
People have told us that they see/hear elements of The Swell Maps, The Cramps, The Fall, Husker Du, The Minutemen, Captain Beefheart, Devo, The White Stripes, The Clash, and "Boro-ness" in our sound/performances.
Oh, and we are in the band and have been for such a long time because it is a laugh. We laugh a lot. We take the piss a lot. It is good - PELLETHEAD
