In this very special performance Italy’s jazz poet, pianist & composer Enrico Pieranunzi plays with his trio - Enzo Zirilli (drums) and Geoff Gascoyne (bass). Known for fusing classical piano techniques with that of jazz, his playing is described as having intense lyricism, while not losing that ability to swing with energy and freshness. Support comes from British pianist/composer Julie Sassoon, playing songs from her latest album Land of Shadows, on Jazzwekstatt.
