LUNGS are one of the most exciting new acts to emerge in 2013. They have crafted one of this year's landmark releases with the gorgeous dream pop beats of the 5-track release 'Faraway' (Hero Records). They formed in 2012, creating surreal sound scapes that build sonically through layers of echoing beats and ethereal hooks. Suzie Blake's haunting vocals drift seamlessly over the canvas of instrumentation and depth created by former Guillemots guitarist, MC Lord Magrão. Rightly described as "Powerful" and "propulsive" by Clash Magazine
The Hotelles are an utterly sizzling newer wave trio. Sharp riffs and no nonsense beats overlaid with a myriad of 20th and 21st century song crafting sensibilities. Their potential and presence have got tongues wagging in all the right places across the arts from music to style. This evening they are back on home turf to rock the very foundations of Goldsmiths Freshers Fortnight.
Wolf Club Lunar Society are one of those accidentally amazing authentic bluesy rock bands that chemistry and supernature conjure up every now and then. Still finding their feet on the path to "formidable" the gig offers are starting to come in for them. This evening get up close and personal. While you can.
Russian Gun Dogs. Awesome dance beat rock soundscapes from a driven band tipped for big things. Coventry's new faves hit London this evening. They have recorded with Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Robert Plant etc), supported high profile names including Reverend And The Makers, Maximo Park, The Subways and Ash. Its early days but they are already a BBC Introducing Pick For 2013. "RGD’s dark tinged new wave is overlaid with the kind of epic vocals that turn crowd sing alongs into alternative rock choirs." (With Guitars).
Richard Lomax is a multi talented young man with a commanding presence that has got him recommended as "compelling, screwed up, and brilliant". That makes him perfect for this bill where every single set is not to be missed.
Since 27th September 2012 Buzz music artists, up and coming photographers/film makers and taste maker arts industry/media have come together in South East London at "The area's first destination club" (New York Times) Amersham Arms. Artsts from every single ArtBeat bill so far have gone on to raised profile, interest and acclaim.
Come. You'll swear you were there anyway.
