We are delighted to announce the second My Little Owl presents live music event in Sheffield will take place on Saturday 16th November 2013 at The Rutland Arms.
Four beautiful acoustic acts will join us as we once again bring excellent talent and lovely people to Sheffield.
Helen McCookerybook - London UK
www.mccookerybook.blogspot.co.uk
Helen McCookerybook was bass player with punk band Joby and the Hooligans in 1977 before forming The Chefs in 1979, who had an indie hit with '24 Hours' and who were loved by the late John Peel. He also loved her next band, Helen and the Horns who recorded 3 sessions for his show. She wrote the Lost Women of Rock Music under the name of Helen Reddington, about the women who played instruments in punk bands in the late 1970s.
Helen is now an outstanding solo artist singing her delightful and beautiful songs. As a performer Helen captivated us when she supported Martin Stephenson when he played at The Lantern Theatre earlier this year. Her gentle vocals make you listen, then smile.
MJ Hibbett - London UK
http://www.mjhibbett.co.uk/blog/
With his band The Validators,MJ Hibbett came to widespread notice in 2000 with "Hey Hey 16K", an ode to the ZX Spectrum and other home microcomputers of the 1980s.
In 2004, Hibbett gained national exposure in the United Kingdom, on the Steve Lamacq show on BBC 6 Music, by regularly performing "The Fair Play Trophy (Again)", a song whose lyrics were updated for each rendition to reflect the then-ongoing events of the UEFA European Football Championship.
He has written and performed three musical theatre ventures Moon Horse, Dinosaur Planet and , most recently the amazing Total Hero Team which is showcasing at the Edinburgh Festival this summer.
Hibbett's songs are released on the Artists Against Success label and he is officially one of the loveliest men in the world.
This is what was said about Mark Hibbett on the Fog of Ideas blog 'Because these aren't comedy songs... some of them will make you laugh, but equally the same songs might contain an observation, a truth, an insight that makes you well up a bit (even a lot, if I'm honest and you'll need to comment to nobody in particular that you've got something in your eye as your voice goes funny and you bottom lip wobbles) or feel less alone in an unforgiving universe because they act as affirmations: a comforting arm 'round the shoulder to say 'it's alright, I feel the same way as you do', because these are human songs, conversational pop from a thoroughly affable chap who seems to have a great ability to tap into a rich seam of cosmic everyday wisdom.'
Robberie - Sheffield UK
http://robberie.com/
One boy, two girls and three musical instruments...if you like your
pop acoustic, heartfelt and harmonious then lend Robberie your ear.You will love their pretty songs of the heart, the home
and the hills of Sheffield.
My Little Owl Records is thrilled to be releasing Robberie's debut single in time for this show:
Two A-sides of warming indiepop melodies on a beautiful 7" record.
Seven Tors - Sheffield UK

We're Seven Tors, a Sheffield-based band with a folky/electro feel.
We're mostly girls. But we're not a girl-band (oh no).
We play music and we like tors. And that's that.
