From Colombia to suburbia Bitch 'n' Monk are the collaboration between experimental flautist Mauricio Velasierra and beat-boxing soprano Heidi Heidelberg.
Their performances are a high-energy showcase of experimental creativity and musicality, with intensely emotive songs that combine the lyrical and sensual with the neurotic and furious.

Their music draws on jazz, rock and folk, and even dub and classical music. Dark basslines and deep groove combine with thrilling vocals and innovative use of pedals, which can take orchestral proportions.

With witty, political, erotic and obscure lyrics, and a strong emphasis on improvisation, their shows are ever-varied and truly original.

As absurd as they are intense, they have engaged audiences across London venues, at La Cigale in Paris and beyond.


BELLATRIX:

Female World Beatbox Champion Bellatrix has been pushing boundaries for years on the British beatbox scene. A veteran within the beatbox community, Bellatrix is best known for her musically informed and creative sets, where this petit woman will shake the floor with her powerful vibrations, as she meanders through a dynamic journey in rhythm. Bellatrix is also member and founder of acclaimed beatbox group The Boxettes, and plays bass with Hip-Hop outfit Dizraeli and the Small Gods.
