BRIAN JACKET LETDOWN + EPO-555 + JONG PANG
BRIAN JACKET LETDOWN were formed in late 2004 by Will Harper, Tom Phillips and Dan Radclyffe . The band came from the songwriting/recording studio partnership of Will (Guitars, Vocals) and Tom (Keyboards), which evolved into a fully-fledged rock band with the addition of Dan (Bass). Before they had even had their first rehearsal they recorded what would become their mini-album "Hooves", a set of folky numbers which instantly came to the attention of London indie label Genepool Records, eventually to be released in May 2006.
The band went into the rehearsal studio to start piecing together their live set, and added the talents of Fernando Donaire (Percussion), a brazilian cohort of Dan's, and worked with a succession of kit drummers (Mike, Gustavo and Martin). Today the line-up consists of Alyssa McDonald on bass guitar and Gemma Ware on saxophone/percussion/glockenspiel/reed organ/anything. Dan plays percussion now in a ropey but rhythmical way.
Armed with flaming beats and bee swarms, giraffes and lethal lyrics the Desert Fox EPO-555 sets the scene for the trench war between good and evil. In this dry and dusty univers the only real outlaw is the ruthless epo-555 electronica-based noise rock in which polemic poetry is mixed with poetic politics, popular music programming, and spiced up with careless curiosity, good faces and foul play until the souls are on fire and the Fox is howling at the moon.
JONG PANG It would be fair to say the music is indie- power pop, with world music influences and a few high flying vocal harmonies.. Something to that extent anyway
