"ANNE JANELLE does enchanting things." (Ottawa Start) With feet planted firmly in folk music, Anne gives every song a contemporary feel, pairing the characteristic bittersweet sounds of the cello with unlikely companions including the ukulele and french-Canadian foot tapping. Anne's songs are a special blend of folk, classical, and pop. Her "gorgeous syrupy voice" (Acoustic) and sultry cello provide the perfect setting for her personal, evocative and poignant lyrics: "a crystal clear sound filled with warmth," (CBC).
Since winning a Canadian Folk Music Award for duo album True Love Don’t Weep (2009), Anne has released two solo albums Beauty Remains (2012) and So Long at the Fair (2013).
Anne will be touring England in support of Proper Music Distribution's UK release of So Long at the Fair, "a highly accomplished sophomore set." (New Canadian Music) She'll be joined on stage by award-winning ukulele virtuoso and songwriter, James Hill.
