The remote island of Eigg, quietly floating among the inner Hebrides of Scotland, is home to 87 people, about 900 sheep, 58 cows, a well stocked fully-licensed tea room, and a green caravan.
That green caravan is home to The Pictish Trail … AND (gasp!) ALSO the country’s newest and most eclectic record label and collective - Lost Map!
Having run Fence Records for over 10 years from a sleepy fishing village on the east coast, lo-fi troubadour The Pictish Trail ventured out west and rebooted the label with a new name, and a fresh lick o’ wood stain. The existing label roster joined him - ethereal electro-shanty guru Seamus Fogarty, slow motion chanteuse Rozi Plain, breakneck indie-rockers Kid Canaveral, post-folk dreamers eagleowl, and the fizzy scotch-pop of Randolph’s Leap - as did the commitment to a collective ethos, and keeping it DIY, fo’ sho'.

On a mission to spread the good word Lost Map to all and sundry, THE PICTISH TRAIL is now working on his third LP, whilst plotting a tour to celebrate the nationwide release ofSecret Soundz Vol.1 and Vol.2 as a double album set this Spring.
“There’s an emotional purity to these songs, which illuminate the shadows between Screamadelica and The Flaming Lips.” Album review, 9 out of 10, UNCUT
"Compulsory listening. Indebted to Hot Chip, the Beta Band and Paul McCartney, this is charming, fresh and quietly outré"✮✮✮✮ The Observer
“Enchanting, home-made electro-pop”✮✮✮✮ MOJO
“An infectious grab bag of musical styles ”✮✮✮✮ Q
Tuff Love are Julie, Suse and Michael - two girls and a dude from Glasgow who cut beautifully distorted guitar gems. Their debut, Junk EP (out May 5th, via Lost Map), is the sound of pure summer; dazzling, sun-streaked fuzz pop, with soft, burning melodies, and big smiling harmonies. They're like a DIY version of all the best bits of Electrelane crossed with early-MBV and a bit of Breeders swagger - and they're gonna make your year a whole lot brighter.

"Deranged, stuttering alt rock with a heart of gold" Clash
“Shimmering lo-fi pop without the fuss and the pretention; a short injection, but it stays in your system. It’s like Pixies’ Kim Deal doing pure pop, and it sounds absolutely brilliant.” Ravechild

Monoganon (“mo-NOG-OH-non”) also hail from Glasgow, although lead singer-songwriter John B McKenna currently finds himself eating and sleeping in the Swedish city of Malmö. Their most recent album, F A M I L Y, was the debut release on Lost Map last October; a kaleidoscopic psyche-grunge masterpiece, awash with layers of spaced-out weirdness, but also teeming with melody.
"A disorientating mesh of angular guitar, off-kilter beats and mood piece confessionals … that slip under the skin and stay there"✮✮✮✮ The Skinny
“The record is truly exquisite; our own answer to Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago, perhaps - certainly as personal an experience for McKenna, and every bit as accomplished and heartrendingly beautiful” The Metro
