Eight Legs Single Launch Party!

North London via Stratford-upon-Avon quartet EIGHT LEGS (www.myspace.com/eightlegs) are certainly strong candidates for mainstream success in 2008 and beyond. Rising to prominence a couple of years ago after being personally handpicked by Heidi Slimane to soundtrack the Christian Dior fashion show (putting them alongside the likes of The Rakes and Razorlight), they’ve since gone from strength to strength by signing to Weekender Records, touring Europe with The Pigeon Detectives, and playing shows as far afield as Brazil and Japan. Referencing the likes of The Smiths, The Cure and The Libertines, their jangly, punky, unmistakably English blend of romantic rock has won them plaudits from the likes of Radio 1’s Colin Murray and Huw Stephens, and an ever increasing fan base. Their debut album, Searching For The Simple Life, is due for release in April.

RIGHT TURN LEFT (www.myspace.com/rightturnleft) are an Exeter quartet who are currently making a significant splash on the alternative music scene. Having already leant support to the likes of The Rumble Strips and Operator Please, they’ve also headlined their own shows in London and recently appeared at Parisian magazine Dirrty Glam’s end of year party at the city’s prestigious Fleche d’Or venue. Musically, they peddle in high energy, mile-a-minute songs with hooks so catchy anything other than quick accession to indie-pop royalty is inconceivable.

DAYTONA LIGHTS (www.myspace.com/daytonalights) are a riot-inducing, party-starting quintet in the mould of The Clash, The Libertines and The Jam. With sing-your-heart-out choruses, raging melodies and the requisite choppy guitar riffs, this lot are sure to leave an impression on the senses.
