Sound of Yell, named after the body of water surrounding the Shetland isle, are a unique ensemble led by Stevie Jones (Arab Strap, Alasdair Roberts and Friends, El Hombre Trajeado). Augmenting Jones' fingerstyle guitar compositions for this rare, full band set are an exciting and broad ranging collection of some of Glasgow's finest musicians including drummer and Dalston regular Alex Neilson. Also performing will be Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian), Aby Vulliamy (National Jazz Trio of Scotland), Peter Nicholson (Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra/The One Ensemble), Vikki Morton (Muscles of Joy), Alex South (The One Ensemble/Scottish Clarinet Quartet), Rafe Fitzpatrick (Alasdair Roberts and Friends) and Georgina McGeown (Issho Taiko Drummers). This show will coincide with the release of Sound of Yell's debut album Brocken Spectre on Chemikal Underground Recordings.
