An evening that takes the base metal of folk melody, throws it in the alembic, and creates three very different intoxicating alchemical distilations:
The Balkan Wanderers merge East European folk with literate indie to produce something full of zest, but slyly witty;
Southend's outstanding experimental drone-folk outfit Lost Harboursalternate between the icily beautiful and the harrowingly bleak;
Oxford-based, Sweden-raised Julia Meijer proffers crisply elegant songs brushed with sweet arrangements and subtle electronics.
